The Wakely Family Endowment for Alzheimer's Research
In the next phase of honoring Mickey’s legacy and the search for a cure, we proudly announce the creation of The Wakely Family Endowment for Alzheimer's Research. It will generate funding forever to support graduate students and researchers dedicated to Alzheimer’s disease.
OUR GOAL OF $100,000 WILL CREATE A LASTING TRIBUTE TO FINDING A CURE
Be a part of funding research that can lead to a cure.
Thanks to the generous support received in 2024, the Mindfull Foundation created The Wakely Family Endowment for Alzheimer's Research with an initial $25,000 contribution. Our goal is to raise $100,000, transforming the endowment into an endowed fellowship that will enable researchers to continue studying Alzheimer’s until a cure is found.
Every donation brings us closer to this milestone and helps create a brighter future for those fighting Alzheimer’s.
Together, we will figure out the cure for this disease.

Funding Research at the UTSA Brain Health Consortium
The Wakely Family Endowment for Alzheimer's Research will direct funding to a collaborative team of scientists at the UTSA Brain Health Consortium, who are experts in neurodegenerative disease, brain circuits and electrical signaling, traumatic brain injury, regenerative medicine, stem cell therapies, medicinal chemistry, neuroinflammation, drug design, and psychology. This exemplary group of researchers is working on complex, large-scale research projects that will result in the development of new and more effective methods for treating debilitating conditions including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, addiction, and traumatic brain injury.
